From Danger to Safety: HaTikva Project Helps Catrina Find a New Home

Catrina is a widow and single mother with 2 teenage sons. She works at a daycare center, earning only about $1,300 per month, and lives in a public housing unit that she received not long ago. Unfortunately, it’s in a bad neighborhood and recently one of her sons received a threat on his life from a criminal in the neighborhood and they even tried to damage the apartment by setting a fire to their front door. This was the last straw and Catrina decided she needed to get out of this neighborhood. HaTikva Project was able to help her pay off debt so she could be in a better financial situation and move to a safer neighborhood that’s also closer to her work.
