Gideon’s Courage: A Police Officer’s Journey Through Trauma and Recovery

Gideon is 27 years old and is from Kibbutz Alumim near the Gaza Strip. He is a police officer who resigned after being exposed to traumatic events on October 7th and is now dealing with PTSD. On the day the war started, he went out to help those who were wounded as well as evacuating the bodies of those who had been murdered. Terrorists shot at him, which caused his car to explode, and he was injured. He applied for National Insurance to be recognized as a victim of hostilities due to the post-traumatic symptoms he is dealing with. HaTikva was able to help him with his expenses as an evacuee while he awaited recognition from the National Insurance.
